Network Marketing Isn't Dead (The Truth Nobody's Saying)

May 25, 20268 min read

Network Marketing Isn't Dead. The Wrong People Are Just Running Their Mouths About It.

A leader DM'd me yesterday. What she said is why I'm writing this.

💋💋💋

A woman sent me a text yesterday. Not a beginner. Not someone three months in playing dress-up with a starter kit. A leader. A woman who built real income in this industry. Who walked stages. Who had a team.

Here's what she said, word for word:

"I'm exhausted. Had to go back and get two full-time jobs because what worked before isn't working now on social media, and no one is teaching me how to actually build. Only sell."

I read that text three times.

And then I got mad. 💅🏼

Because she didn't fail. The industry didn't fail her either. The people in her ear failed her. The "coaches." The "leaders." The "social selling experts" who convinced her, and a generation of women like her, that network marketing was over and social selling was the new gospel.

It's not. And I'm done pretending it is.

No she didn't just say that.

Yeah, sis. I did. 💋

I've Been In This Industry Since 2012. I Know The Difference.

I didn't come into network marketing through a Canva coach funnel. I didn't learn this business from some 23 year old in a rented villa telling me to "just post more reels."

I learned it from real builders. Women and men who had teams of thousands. Who understood compensation plans like attorneys understand contracts. Who taught me that this industry was never about pushing product. It was about developing people.

Here's what real network marketing actually is:

  • You find someone with potential

  • You teach them a skill set

  • You help them duplicate that skill set with their people

  • You build leveraged income because your check is tied to the organization you developed, not the products you personally sold this month 💰

That's it. That's the model. That's what made network marketing one of the most powerful income vehicles ever created for women without degrees, without venture capital, without permission from a corporate gatekeeper.

It built lives. It built legacies. It built generational wealth for women who would never have gotten a seat at any other table. 👠

And now? Now we have an entire generation of women being taught that the answer is to sit on Instagram for three to four hours a day playing QVC host.

Sell. Sell. Sell. Repeat.

That's not network marketing. That's a sales job with a worse hourly rate and no benefits.

How We Got Here (And Who To Blame)

Let me say the part out loud that nobody else will:

A bunch of women who never actually built a real organization started teaching other women how to build organizations.

They had a few good months. They went viral once. They sold a lot of starter kits. And then they slapped "Top Earner" in their bio and started coaching.

They never developed a single leader. They never built duplication. They've never seen what their check looks like in month 37 when their personal sales drop to zero and their organization keeps producing, because that's what actually built looks like. 💎

So what did they teach? What they knew. Which was sales. Just sales. Just selling.

And then the compensation plans followed. New companies launched with comp plans engineered to reward the loudest personal seller, not the woman quietly developing the next leader. Frontload the personal volume. Crush the leadership bonuses. Make the top of the pay plan look juicy on a graphic but make it functionally impossible to actually leverage.

So now you have a whole industry of women hustling on Instagram four hours a day to hit personal volume targets. And the women who should be billionaires by now, the natural builders, the real leaders, are working two jobs because nobody ever taught them that what they were doing wasn't network marketing in the first place.

It was social selling cosplaying as network marketing.

No she didn't just say that.

I did. And I'll say it again louder for the women who needed to hear it. 💋

The 5 Tells You Got Hustled By A "Social Selling Coach"

If any of these sound familiar, you're not in network marketing. You're in retail with extra steps.

1. Your "training" is 90% content prompts and 10% (or less) leadership development. If your upline's curriculum is hook formulas and reel templates and zero conversations about how to identify, develop, and duplicate a leader, you don't have an upline. You have a content coach.

2. Your compensation plan rewards personal volume disproportionately. Look at your last six checks. What percentage came from your personal sales versus your organization's volume? If it's 70%+ personal, you don't have leverage. You have a job.

3. You're posting more than you're recruiting conversations. Real builders are in DMs and on calls developing humans. Social sellers are in Canva.

4. Your "team calls" are about product launches and selling tactics instead of leadership development. When was the last team call that wasn't about a new flavor drop or a "limited time" promo? When was the last call about how to identify potential in your people and build them into leaders?

5. You're exhausted and your income hasn't compounded. This is the tell. Real network marketing income compounds. Year 3 should look meaningfully different from year 1. If you're working harder every year for the same check, something structural is wrong, and it's not you. 💎

To Every "Leader" Pushing The "Network Marketing Is Dead" Narrative

I see you. And I'm calling it.

You're not a leader. You're a personal seller with a microphone.

You're telling women the industry is dead because you couldn't figure out how to build inside of it. You're telling them social selling is the future because that's the only thing you ever actually did. You're teaching them to chase the next sale because you don't know how to teach them to build the next leader, because you never did it yourself.

And the women listening to you? They're not lazy. They're not uncommitted. They're not "missing the mindset piece."

They're exhausted. They're going back to corporate. They're quitting an industry that could have given them everything because you taught them to grind for pennies instead of build for pounds. 👠

That's on you. Not on them. Not on the industry. On you.

To The Real Builders Reading This 💎

If you're still in this and you're built different, listen.

The next decade of network marketing is not going to belong to the loudest social sellers. They're already burning out. You can watch it happen in real time. Watch who's posting "taking a break for my mental health" by Q2 of next year. Watch.

The next decade belongs to the women who remembered what this industry was built for:

  • Building people

  • Building leaders

  • Building lives 💰

That's it. That's the whole thing.

Find a company with a mission bigger than the product. A movement people can see themselves inside of, not just sell from. A compensation plan that pays you to develop people instead of push inventory. An upline that talks to you about your people, not just your numbers.

If you have to scroll past 40 product posts to find one piece of actual leadership content from your upline, you're in the wrong room. Find a different room.

To The Woman Who Sent Me That Text

Sis. Read me carefully.

You did not fail.

You were taught a version of this industry that was never going to compound. You were sold a strategy that requires you to be the engine. Your face, your phone, your energy, four hours a day, forever. And the moment you stopped being the engine, the income stopped. Because there was no leverage. There was just you.

That's not your fault.

But here's the part you have to own: the next chapter is. 💋

You can keep working two jobs and trying to "post your way back." Or you can stop, audit what you were actually taught, and learn how to build the way this industry was meant to be built.

I'd vote for the second one.

Network Marketing Isn't Dead. It's Just Waiting For The Right Women To Run It Again. 👠💰

I built a system for the women who are ready to actually build. Not sell harder. Build.

It's called Network Marketing On Demand. It's the playbook I wish someone had handed the woman who sent me that text three years ago, before she went back to two jobs, before she burned through her belief in this industry, before she gave up.

It's not a content vault. It's not 47 hook templates. It's a framework for identifying leaders, developing them, and building the kind of organization that pays you in your sleep. The way this industry was always supposed to work. 💎

If you're a real builder and you're tired of being gaslit by women who've never actually built anything, this is your room.

The women who win the next decade in this industry are not going to be the loudest. They're going to be the ones who remembered what it was for.

Be one of them. 💋

If this hit, send it to the leader in your life who's about to give up. She doesn't need another reel. She needs to remember what she's actually capable of building. 💋💰👠💅🏼💎
